Carbon biofilter
Under this raised section is a carbon biofilter that prevents unpleasant odors around your HOTBIN. This helps us ensure that you do not have to deal with any unwanted visitors (pests).
Thermometer
We supply 2 thermometers with the HOTBIN, one of which is already integrated into the lid. This allows you to check whether your HOTBIN is hot (40-60°C).
Air valve
The air valve creates a constant airflow. Fresh air is drawn in at the bottom of the HOTBIN and warm air can escape again through the air valve. Naturally, this passes through the carbon biofilter to prevent unpleasant odors.
Air intake
Provides an oxygen supply to the HOTBIN. Oxygen is essential for the composting process.
Tap for leachate
The HOTBIN has a double bottom where the excess moisture from kitchen and garden waste (leachate) is collected. You can collect this, dilute it 1:20 with water, and use it as liquid fertilizer for your plants.
HOTBIN base
The base raises the HOTBIN by 12cm, making it easier to drain the leachate. This can be ordered separately.
Strap
The tension strap ensures that the harvest hatch stays securely in place, preventing gaps where heat could escape.
Harvest hatch
You can harvest the compost from the HOTBIN via the harvest hatch. You can open it and replace it without the need for tools.
